Coming to New York has been, to me, a re-education in art. I have finally seen Vincent’s Starry Night, in addition to some seminal Mondrians, Kiefers, Pollocks, Rothkos and Closes amongst many others I have longed to experience in person.
I have long believed and passionately so, that art is a necessity, without which our souls and our minds will be much diminished.
A Met Museum’s empty gallery doorway within a doorway, within a doorway and a partial view of an abstract painting somehow made sense to illustrate what I wished to say.
